Re: previous owners details

[QUOTEIf I were your friend, I'd contact the previous owner myself & explain what was going on. Get her to contact the rescue centre to get the dog out & ask her to pay half of those costs][/QUOTE]

As i said in the previous post, she has tried calling AND has gone round.
And as for the collar, it came with her and has been fine till then.

Cost doesn't matter, she said she's willing to pay to get her back, she's more concerned that she's on her own and not at home where she should be.

Also looked through all the stuff tonight and she has pedigree papers, vet cards for her jabs, the advert, insurance document type things, and loads of pictures from the first week they got her.

She was also registered with the pdsa before and she has the letters from that.
So finger's crossed that'll be enough.

Re: previous owners details

Good luck to your friend and hope she gets the dog back

As long as the details from her pedigree papers and vet cards match with the details on the chip along with insurance docs and photos (showing distinguishing marks) should be enough proof.

However I also think its rather irresponsible of your friend to not have the dog scanned for a chip/checked by a vet as soon as getting the dog and also having ill fitting equipment

As I previously stated I really hope they get reunited and lessons learned

And a huge for a dog warden doing their job

Just to add, I recently got a dog from rescue and am having issues changing over chip details as after 6-7 different homes (including 2 different rescue kennels) he is still registered to the original owner that bought him as a pup - he is only 20 months old now The worst being the rescue said he was not chipped and immediately taking im to my vet for a check finds a chip luckily not flagged as lost/stolen, but still you'd think someone would have changed the chip details

Re: previous owners details

Hopefully the stuff your friend has will help get her back.

Hopefully your friend has learnt that you shouldnt let a dog off lead until it has good recall. You shouldnt really let your dog off elad until at least a few months of living with you, not a week.

If you read the OP she said she slipped the lead not that they let her off

Re: previous owners details

Was the person you got the Dog from the original owner?

as if it was,you could write to them at the address you presumably got the dog from,as they might have redirected there mail, when they moved and could quickly clear this up..

Re: previous owners details

She's getting her back!
We drove to the house today to ask around the other neighbours and one of them was collecting there post for them and gave us there new address.
The woman couldnt apologise enough and contacted the DG while we were there to confirm change of ownership. She's also offered to pay the whole release fee, but my friend refused and they compamised at half each.
But by the time we got back the DG office was closed again! So my friend is goingtomorrow to pay the release fee. Will she get hck there and then, or will she have to wait a few days?
I never got round to asking my friend.
