I will not name names, but a few of you may know who im talking about.

A friend of mine works in kennels, only temp till the end of the summer. Last night she told me some shocking things that go on behind the scenes.
Firstly, they are totally careless about protecting boarding dogs from the strays and illnesses they might have brought in. One stray may come in with Kennel cough and be put in a kennel next to a boarder. Staff will do the stray, then go to the next kennel to see to the boarder, spreading the germs and the boarder gets KC.
The manager is a nasty piece of work. When i met her, she was incredibly rude, swore alot and b*tched about people who i knew RIGHT INFRONT OF ME! When talking about the strays, we were like "we got this one a home, and that one a home" her reply was "tbh i couldnt care less" and her attitude (and her words) "They're only strays...." She has been seen beating dogs, kicking them in their stomachs if they annoy her or if they dont walk properly. she was also seen yesterday holding a JRT up in the air by the scruff and was hitting it hard. She stood on a puppys foot (staff think it was deliberate) and broke it. She also kicks the beagles in the stomachs just because she can. Anyone who puts their poor animals in this place will guarentee their pets to be beaten, and most probably get ill. They dont bother finding homes for the strays, instead they leave them there to be pts. I am going to report this place as soon as i can, i cannot believe someone like this is allowed to get away with this and i cannot believe the staff dont do anything about it! This woman doesnt care about these dogs, and couldnt care less about finding homes for strays. She should either be fired, or done for animal cruelty. Or both.

Does this lady have the contract from the local council to take in strays ? If so get in touch with the dog warden section and ask if you can have a face to face meeting with the head of the dept. Councils have to register kennels and if she has the contract the council will no doubt take this off her.

Document all your evidence in writing, dates times who was present, what she did. When you have the meeting ask for an assurance of annonaminatony ( havent a clue how to spell it) you after all have to have some protection. Find out who the portfolio holder is for that dept and also the councillor that represents the area that the kennels come under and speak to them, the reception or customer services dept should tell you ( your council may have a web site so info can be got from their) If they dont act go to the local press - no councils want the media hounding them - good luck

If this is true this is disgusting and needs to be stopped, if only she could be secretly videotaped and this forwarded along with eye witness accounts etc.

Thanks for this! Yes i believe she does have a contract. Im doubtful the staff will secretly video her and she wont act like this around visitors! If all this fails, the press sounds like plan B.

She doesnt have to video it, just note the time etc. As long it is in written form it is evidence - give the council a chance to do something you can always say the press would be very interested - with us being a animal loving society.

Any publicity will be damaging for the owner - who the hell in their right mind would take their dog to a place where they are abused.
