I own both, big and small dogs, all of them are trained exactly the same way. I've said it before, there is just NO excuse for not training ANY dog - laziness, pure and simple.

I don't think it's down to the size of the dog, I think it's down to the size of the owner's brain.

Well I must be reading the OP's post completely out of context, I *assumed* they'd had a run in with a few small type of badly behaved dogs in their area, and were having a bit of a 'let off steam' on here about it, where they knew, and pointed out, this thread wasn't aimed at owners who are responsible with their small dogs. I don't think there's any doubt in my mind that *some* people buy a small dog because it is cute and they do baby it and let it get away with awful behaviour without socialising or teaching any manners. I think with large breeds, people buy in ignorance at just how difficult it can be to train and keep control of a big dog, but I doubt anyone buying one would want to baby it to the extent of a bichon frise for example (disclaimer: not that I'm saying all bichon frise owners buy them to baby them ). Give the OP a break, we all have a bit of a rant from time to time, particularly just after a bad experience, or several repeated bad experiences

The amount of absolute rubbish that gets posted about Labs is unbelievable, I just don't let it get to me

if you were just complaining about an incident that happened, then just explain it..

Im not getting into an argument, but it was that one line that I didnt think was right and is why i said what i did, and others too.

It's a forum I'm responding to your small dog bashing thread how I see fit. It's a public forum and I'm not breaking the rules...I just think you are being a bit judgemental and narrow minded.

Please note the title of your thread is so I can't understand your surprise when when people get upset. You clearly knew you were poking a stick at a raw nerve by the thread title

It's not that your thread is any worse than any others but there have been many small dog bashing threads this last couple of weeks and unfortunately this one appears to be the last straw breaking the camel's back.
