I give mine lightly fried liver, tinned peach slices and natural pro biotic yoghurt after an op just to make sure they don't get constipated and they never have. They love the dessert too.

Dont worry too much bowels can be impaired for up to 72hrs after aneasthetic and other meds they give. It will likely sort itself out.
Usually they tell you to feed a light resting diet the first night like chicken/fish/scrambled egg and rice.
