Re: Why do they say?
I've never heard that before about them, when I was looking at them as a breed we might be interested in no one I spoke to mentioned it.

Re: Why do they say?
I had a lovely Cavalier King Charles, Meg, who sadly passed away last year
![]() But she was brilliant off the lead! We never used the lead with her after we got confident with her heel work. She never left our side, not once! ![]() Unlike my little terror now, a cocker spaniel who does his own thing! ![]() |

Re: Why do they say?
Personally Ive never heard of it and know a lot of cavaliers that go off lead. In fact I cant think of a more biddable easy going breed and I cant imagine they have a high prey drive to chase. Therefore I should think they are fairly easy to train recall included and seem very owner orientated. As I say though dont know the breed really, but from observation and meeting them aand taking into consideration what they were originally breed for, personally I cant understand why.

Re: Why do they say?
never heard of it for a ckcs
can`t imagine why anyone would say they shouldn`t be allowed off lead, in fact i`ve never heard of any breed of spaniel being particularly bad off lead. think someone may have been trying to put you off the breed possibly? |
