Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

I love a party, i even love fireworks but why can't people find 30 seconds of their time to inform their neighbours (many of whom have dogs) that they're letting them off in their gardens. Thankfully my pups are getting quite good with them (they've had plenty of practice in the last 48 hours)!!
Sorry about the moan, I'm not a total party pooper!! just like a bit of warning!!!

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

Well I am 'PARTY POOPER' I hate fireworks they cause so much upheaval, terrifying animals, pets and wild life. My Mum lived in sheltered accommodation
her neighbours were all old, some very old, she was in her nineties, most were a bit deaf but could hear fireworks, they terrified them. One poor fellow was a bit confused and believed it was the blitz again.
what I can never understand is that it is illegal to carry a gun but anyone can walk the streets with a shopping bag full of gunpowder, makes no sense to me. I would like to see them banned, organised displays I can cope with, just.

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

Fireworks are fun but should be kept for Guy Fawkes night and New Year only,
as it is, they are let off every night for weeks and it isn't fair on the animals.

We get them all year round, there is a large canal side pub down the road from us and they are always having private parties so we regularly get woke up just as we have dropped off to sleep, damned annoying.

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

We live about 1/2 mile from a very big firework factory so we hear them being tested all year round and the pets have learned to ignore them, unfortunately they have a factory shop where they sell them very cheaply everybody locally gets loads of them so we will hear them going off around the house until the early hours. Totally agree with marlynaveve they should be restricted to organised displays. Last year a local boy found a yorkie that had been killed by a car and blew it up with a firework so the poor owner didn't even have a body to bury.

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

It hasn't been too bad so far this year for fireworks, a neighbour had a party a few weeks ago, same thing didn't mention anything. Duke was okay but the cats weren't.

There has been the odd firework here and there but nothing like it used to be, its starts around August September and goes right through to New Years Eve. So far this year there has been the odd peaceful night

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

My neighbours had some fireworks on Tuesday right outside their back door they just plonked them on the wall & they fell over & were shooting over the fence into my garden

my DDB is 6 months & my St Bernard is 5 months both bolted & are now shivering wrecks my Boxer is 6 & even he was scared it was only my Akita & Jack Russell who weren't bothered but the Akita is 9 & lives outside so he's used to them by now

My other neighbour is having some tomorrow but she told me weeks ago so I can make sure the dogs are in the front with the telly on loud
