Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

I think they should be banned not only to they frighten animals, they drive me mad, if it was one day a year I would not like it but I'd put up with it. But it's all year round. Weddings, birthdays, football team has won the cup, the way they are going round here they'll have them for a funeral next.

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

My dog was fine with fireworks until last year. We were in my garden and a firework blew off right above us it made me jump too but poor Archie if he could most probably he would of jumed out of his skin and jumped a mile, bless him. Since that day he's petrified of fireworks and I just don't know how to calm him down. At a sound of a firework he strats shivering so much, with his tounge hanging out all hot. So yeah I hate fireworks and there are so many reasons for it to be banned...

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

There haven't been any round here so far, I've noticed most of the pubs are having displays though. We pick our puppy up tomorrow, so we'll see how he goes, we'll have the telly on loud at any rate.

Unhappy Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

I think it's time they were banned, I worry for all the wild life and people's pets, and dare not even think about the cruel things the morons do to animals

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

Our neighbours had some tonight and Lady needed to go out for a wee so I let them both out, up until that point they had both barked at them but once they saw we didn't react to them and that they could see all the light the barking stopped and they seem totally fine now!!! Pleased isn't the word!! Though these people were considerate enough to let us know they were doing it!!!
It's non stop here in northern Ireland, while they don't celebrate Guy Fawkes, we do have st Patrick's day, 12th July holiday and Halloween is bigger her then of course all the others, new years etc... night mare!!

Sorry about the moan, I'm not a total party pooper!! just like a bit of warning!!!
I agree....my cats in the past hated fireworks and would run and hide somewhere. I love fireworks but since seeing the fear they put into animals my opinion has changed.

Re: Arrggghhh Fireworks!!!

i think fireworks look nice but they get right on my nerves, been hearing them for over two weeks already, they should be restricted to a couple of nights a year. they dont upset any of my animals but weve had some in the past that were petrified. it must upset wildlife too and then bits of the rocket land back on the ground and arent cleaned up. i wonder if any animals get poisoned by them??? then theres always some idiot every year that tortures animals with them on purpose. awful things really
