Dogs on Scarborough beach?

Hi all, A bit of a long shot question but I have heard that dogs can go on the north side beach at Scarborough. we are planning a trip out tomorrow with the kids and as monte is part of the family we want to take him to. We know he can go in the park next to it and on the miniature train. If anyone knows about the beach I would be really grateful.
Thanks

Can I suggest Reighton Gap just south of Filey? Absolutely gorgeous, long, wide beach, all sandy and you can walk for miles with the doggies... a lot of beaches ban dogs around the summer months but we were at Reighton a few weeks ago and saw quite a few dog walkers

Re: Dogs on Scarborough beach?

We've been to North Bay at Scarborough several times (pics below), but always out of season - I've a feeling dogs are banned during the high season.

Mabelthorpe is excellent for walking dogs on beaches - there is a humungous stretch of sand from the steps in the middle of the resort to the left of the steps (if you stand facing the sea) where dogs are allowed on all year round and it goes on for miles and miles.
