Boxers.....

Can someone tell me a bit about them please? As they are a breed I have admired but never wanted to own so don't really know anything about them.

I am helping out a friend who has gone to stay with her ill mum, her husband is not able to walk Buster and he is becoming a handfull so I have said I will help as much as I can until she gets back.

Best ways to tire them out? I have a 100ft lead and there is a small field next to their house that is empty at the moment.

I am also planning on bringing him over here a few times if he gets on with the dogs.

I've met him a good few times before, hes a lovely boy, just want to know a bit more about the breed if I am going to be seeing him much more regularly

Re: Boxers.....

My boss has one named Nitro Brindle Boy (my boss is Boxer nuts!)

Ive met him when she brought to store once tho he was in the car.

Shes got to walk him with a head halti. But Ive been told he loves plastic bottles and will go through peoples blue bins looking for them.

She doesnt walk him in the city much like I walk Sophie. She takes him to big fields and forest walks.

Not sure what else.

Ive tried getting her to bring him on a walk with me and Sophie but shes afraid he may trample Sophie as he can be very bouncy.

Re: Boxers.....

Yeah they walk Buster in a halti... I didn't think that would be comfy with those face wrinkles!
He is boisterous and likes to use his feet lol

Probably not but she told him he pulls like steam train (70 pounds)

Ive been warned when I go over to to be well prepared for a big greeting.

Told my boss I prefer the Fawn over the brindle and apparently I gave her poor boy a complex...opps

Re: Boxers.....

My aunt & uncle have had boxers for years - they are very friendly, very bouncy, very boisterous! I would say lots of exercise required!

Re: Boxers.....

We have a boxer.

I know two adult boxers who love playing fetch, and will do that all day!

I wouldn't trust them with small furries or birds, they can be quite bouncy dependant on age. I've also known a few to be wary of strangers.

They are usually more prone to SA I believe, as they quite like human companionship.

I have a harness for Bailey and will continue to use it, not sure if I'd get a head collar for him

Re: Boxers.....

Im sure you will have loads of fun with him
They do like to use their feet alot.....they are 'Boxers' and our youngest will box on command, its quite funny seeing it.

You have too show who's incontrol at the start as they do like to boss you about and no doubt he will want to take you on a walk later

They love to please and thrive on praise..........but can act like a rebelious teenager so dont be fooled!!!!!
