Dog Bed Covers...... I wish there was.......

..........................what?

I'm going to have a go making some dog bed covers as I am bored of the ones in the shop and tbh it would be cheaper for me as Dave sometimes eats them.

So I am going to start off with charity shop curtains/bed covers.

But I am stuck on how to fasten them. Velcro goes fluffy and after a while doesnt stick.
Buttons may pull off.

Poppers and Zips? But then my mum said sometimes poppers come off too and what if the zip burst?

What if I made a dog bed like a big pillow case instead?

So has anyone got any ideas what is the best type of dog bed cover, or what you wish there was but can't find?

Ive got a few people near me that want odd sized bed covers that are hard to find, so hopefully once I get my mums sewing machine I can have a go

I would say a zipper is your best bet, we havea bed with a zipper and its fine, just make the cover a tad loose, rather than having it pulled really tight over the bed.

Lol we dont really use beds anymore, we have a thick rug cut into 3, the only thing they havent destroyed!

I really have no idea, maybe elastic under the seam?

Re: Dog Bed Covers...... I wish there was.......

I have the pillow case type, someone on a chi forum makes them in really cute designs.
My 3 love to burrow so these were ideal.
I got a fleece one and it just fits over a standard bed pillow.

I also bought velvet ones with faux fur inside from ebay from a seller from the US.
Those ones arent for over a pillow, they are like snuggle pockets, the pups can just go inside. lol

I have two with zips. They seem to be excellent.

Re: Dog Bed Covers...... I wish there was.......

I have made a pillow case one, but George needs to dig before he sits down and he always pulls the duvet out of the cover, so have stuck with the zipper ones. It be nice to have one the same thickness as a duvet but half the price of the usual dog beds.
