Re: preloved site

Obviously some people have been bitten by preloved, but as we have both agreed it's a case of being careful, reading between the lines and weeding out the good from the bad.
Personally I have only had good experiences and breeders that I have met have advertised on their, but I am very careful who I contact and I think it's just a case of being sensible and avoiding any advert or advertising that sounds too good to be true!!!

it wasn`t a breeder i had bad experiences with it was someone rehoming an older pup - all sounded perfect but then i think the second i seen that dog the rose tinted glasses went on. i don`t regret it as she was my baby but would avoid the place in future merely due to my fear of something similar happening

Re: preloved site

I too agree - if you are careful, there are some genuine people on Preloved - I got my boy from there and have not regretted it for a second.
However, if you want a pedigree dog then it is a bit different as you need to ensure bloodlines etc. (BTW although my dog is a crossbreed, both parents had been tested and as I said I am more than happy with him!!)

Re: preloved site

I got my Charlie boy from Preloved.co.uk although in future I would avoid it as the people on their are only in it for the £££. (as was Charlie...or Shadow he was called, previous owners, she literally counted the notes out in front of me and ignored me when I said "He was going to a great loving home" !)

I love my Charlie to bits though, despite being a total arse!

But you get lots of people selling "pedigree" cross-breeds...Westie X Jack.

Whaaaaa?

Wouldn't take my Chazz back for the world though

Re: preloved site

Thanks for all the info - Fiona ( my friend) and me were talking last night, we are going to avoid preloved. The breeder has other mini dachs ( her oldest 2 are 16 yrs old) so she appears not one of the breeders that sell on old stock ( sorry to term it like that) She does seem to be a good breeder, she said that she would take back one of her litter at any age and rehome, explained fully about the PRA test and told Fiona to look at a certain site regarding tests etc. When she found out where we were from she told us that she had sold 2 pups to a family near to us( it turns out that he is the police sgt in our town - small world or what)

There wont be any concerns regarding the Xmas thing - Fiona and her husband have both just taken early retirement( there eldest daughter is 32 and no grandchildren) so it wont be a fad while the puppy stage is on.Now we only have to hope that a girl appears in the litter
