Benji update

Hi all,

Had a busy weekend with puppy moving in on Frida but thought I'd come on and share some pictures of him...

He was perfect on the way home, no crying, just slept and nibbled at my fingers a bit. Was really brave and wanted to meet everyone as soon as we got home had our first wee and poo in the garden! Slept great, no crying or whingingbut wanted to get up at 5:30!

Saturday he was really clingy didn't want leaving, weeing and pooing going well in the garden with a few accidents inside. Not managed to go on the paper! Tried to meet the cat but the cat didn't want to... Hardly slept at all. Cried and howled all night. Pooed right in front of the kitchen door so when I went to check on him, I stood right in it with bare feet too...

Sunday, much the same really happy and playful, started chewing more, especially toes! Teeth are definitely coming through. Slept a lot better tonight, less crying but woke about 3 for a cry.

Monday, he had his first bath with us. He'd been bathed before he came home to us. He loved his bath but when he got out he was shivering soooo hard so we wrapped him in a towel and he fell straight to sleep. Slept better again. Bit of a cry and whinge when he wakes up but generally going straight back to sleep.

Although his toilet training isn't perfect. When he is outside he takes himself behind the garage for a poo. I think wee's are still coming as a suprise to him though!

I'm so impressed with his little achievements so far. Hopefully we will keep improving everyday!

Hope you like the pics. Sara xx

Ooooh, what a gorgeous little bundle of fluffness .

Sounds like all is going well, LOL at the bare feet and the poo .

It's great that he's going to the toilet outside, are you giving it a name, e.g. busy, or be quick, so he knows what you want and can learn to do it "on command". I've tried to do this with Poppy, given a name since day 1, now 12 months on she still doesn't go "on command" when we're out on walks.

Encourage him to continue doing his poos behind the garage, much better than being spread around the garden, you know exactly where to go to clean it up . When we're out on walks Poppy likes to get behind bushes or in corners for her poos.

Bathed twice in four days. Mine gets one twice a year and at this time of year is sent for a load of retireves in the river.

Re: Benji update

Poo's and wee's are both 'going for a weewee!'. We look after a dog that will only go on demand. So well trained but I do worry she'd cross her legs all week if she wasn't told to go! haha

He had yellow legs from his wee so needed a bath! The water was so dirty afterwards. I never knew such a little puppy could be so mucky after 3 days!

He's such a lovely pup. Makes you wonder how you ever lived without them

Re: Benji update

Lola has the back leg yellow issue but i normally just wipe her down with a baby wipe

Think she has had 2 baths but only due to looking like a total scruffbag and mucky lol

Thats trouble with white dogs they dont stay clean long but i find wiping her over with a babywipe every few days does the trick
