Question Meeting up with responsible owners and well behaved dogs - Is anyone interested?

Hey everyone!

After an evening walk tonight, after another dog charged up to Charlie (was okay at first then snapped) *sigh* I have decided I am going to try and set up a "responsible owners meet and walk" kinda training session...thing.

Basically I need friendly people with calm dogs who I could meet up and do some training with. Dottie and Charlie are due to start dog training classes next month but I am getting so fed up and annoyed that people let their dog charge up to mine despite seeing they're on a lead and I'm clearly trying to distract and walk away.

JUST CALL THEM BACK!

I dont know if any of you guys are interested in meeting up (I can drive out) and walking your dogs with mine, with mine leaded up and just doing some training.

I'm going to make a FB page as well to try and appeal to the responsible dog owners out there who have friendly, calm dogs. Just getting very bleeped-off with this happening!

Dogs off leads with no owners in sight, dogs with no-recall and "owners" with no brains!

xxx

Great idea, for me i'm always looking for more and more dogs like this for Maya's training. I think Plymouth is a little far but good luck

Can I just say to be very careful with advertising for fellow dog walkers?

You don't know who will turn up?!! Could be some rather unsavoury characters.

Could you not join a dog obedient/ agility class or something that you and your dog will enjoy doing - you will meet with dogs and like minded owners that way and in a much safer environment!

And, you'll need public liability insurance.

I run a training school where we go out for group walks, have a look around, there are plenty of us about.

Re: Meeting up with responsible owners and well behaved dogs - Is anyone interested?

I suppose so, I guess you never know who could show up, although they can't be worse than the people down my park. Well not all the people, that's really unfair, just a lot of them.

I'll try to find another dog class sooner, but like I said Dottie and Charlies classes start next month, but I never thought to try with agility. Does anyone know of any groups run by professionals (non Alpha rolling, PosR groups) that do group walks, that kinda thing?

I didn't mean for me to "run" a group, I just meant like minded people who wanted to meet up at a set time...but you just answered my previous question, thanks

I'll get searching!

And sadly SpringerHusky....it is a tad far
