Re: All dogs to be muzzled

I her no problems kids stroking my dogs they all love them, lotus doesn't like boisterous kids though!

The problem I have is because they are small the kids don't see dog try see Beverly hills chihuahua (urgh) and shove their grubby little hands in their faces?! Don't listen when I say don't touch my dog you didn't ask (trying to educate kids to ask is hard)is a pain what's worse is the parents do the same so I get fed up!!

Daisy couldn't care less she's bomb proof, lotus has growled at one child but he was poking at her through a fence and frankly I'm not going to tell her off for that stupid kid being an idiot and leilani is so friendly it hurts!!!!

I think if kids & adults were educated how to approach dogs these let's muzzle all dogs idiots would get off their band wagons

Re: All dogs to be muzzled

I agree I think people need to be more educated on how to approach dogs considering there are so many in society now.

Do organisations still go into schools to do talks on dog safety? Not heard of one for ages and I think that they should still do it.

Also if they had a dog awareness week or something and lots of big organisations get together to provide free talks over the country about how to groom/care/approach dogs and how to tell if a dog isn't comfortable

Re: All dogs to be muzzled

Coming back from a long off lead walk in the meadow yesterday, Baillie back on lead and almost home when a little (well, maybe 10-11yrs) girl screeches 'Excuse me!!! Can I pat your dog?'. LOL

Well, seeing that we were both a bit hot and tired I turned and said, 'No, sorry'. So then we walked on towards home but the girl then screeches 'Excuse me!!! Does your dog bite???' (I tried to keep walking and ignore this but she kept yelling), so I turned and said 'No, she's just tired and needs to go home'.

Later I thought of various answers I could have given, such as 'Only when I tell her to' or 'No, but I do'...LOL (Joking!)

Anyway, at least she ASKED - and respected my answer when I said no.

I believe MGRA was one of the people posting comments on the original article.
