Unfortunately it's extremely unlikely that anyone will take on this dog, as someone else said, it's more likely that someone would just go to a rescue and get a Staffy that doesn't have any problems.

well i hope for trixies sake that she gets another home, we cant shoot down her original owners it was nice of her to rescue trixie in the 1st place, she has always had these problems and the owner has tried to help her, Ok the bassets whernt the best idea but that wasnt the owners fault as her mum said she wanted the bassets and its her house after all.

I feel I am being bullied into keeping her, when all I want to do is give her the best. I feel this is for the best as I can't help her with her fear over other dogs. I hope no-one who has said things that are hurtful NEVER have to go through this because it is not something that I am doing lightly and you also never know what comes along. I thought I would never have to do this BUT I am and it hurts but I need to do what's best for Trixie.
No problem, ive been there and so many people(not on here) was very negative towards us when we tried to rehome barney, then had to make the decision of having him pts he was only 12 months old, people automatically think you dont have feelings for them, well i can tell them differently it broke my heart, not everyone knew my situation, barney was dangerous, yes dangerous at 12 months old, my homelife wasnt able to keep him, long story how we came by him, maybe yes that was my fault given the history i shouldnt have taken him but i did and it all turned out a nightmare. Ime sure you arnt taking this lightly and i wish you and trixie all the best and hope i really do for a happy outcome, barney wasnt pts in the end and things turned out well for him, ime hoping tixie has the same luck. xx

Just shows when you rescue a dog everyone in the house has to be on board when it comes to the welfare of that dog.

Re: Having to re-home Trixie :(

I have a dog aggressive rescue staff. I was also told she has no issues. She was also aggressive to children and would ignore us completely growling at us if we touched her. I have had her for 2 and a half years and worked with her every day. I have NEVER allowed her to be in a situation where a fight would happen. i have her under control in every situation, and you have failed her by not ensuring that. You KNOW she is unpredictable, so why the hell take her muzzle off? if she is terrified of dogs why are you letting her near other strange dogs when you have no idea of their temperament?

I would never DREAM of fostering dogs with maddie in the house. It is completely unfair of me to expect her to tolerate that. i know it would make her issues worse.

I'm sorry you feel so bad, but do you honestly believe that someone is going to offer her a home now? The moment you signed the paperwork, you were solely responsible for her. her FOREVER home.

i'm sorry to say this, and im sure you are aware, but i have an awful gut feeling you may have signed her death warrant.

I'm not being rude! If you want to have a dog in a household, then everyone in that household has to be committed to that dog and its needs.

Just common sense. I'm not saying it to upset anyone.

I waited until I had my own house and was in the right situation before I took on a dog and made sure that everyone involved was on board.

Re: Having to re-home Trixie :(

Im very sorry for poor Trixie.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that she can find a nice quiet home in an area with a low dog population.

I really dont think by saying these awful things are helping 1 bit, you know what i think instead of getting this thread closed people with cruel comments and really i do think some of you are being extremely cruel, dont comment and leave it to the ones that can offer some sympathy and lets hope that someone might just see this and maybe be able to offer help or know someone who can.
