I think her current one is 5m so she would be fine. When you see her meet a strange dog for the first time, I definitely don't think "excitement" is the right word. When she sees the dog she sits down and waits, if the dog looks at her she starts to slowly go into a down position, if the dog starts walking over she very slowly rolls over and if they actually come up to say hello she'll get flat on her back getting her bits sniffed like mad Real classy.

We saw two DDBs last night (she's met one of them before) playing together like nutters, we were about 25m away and once Izzy spotted them this whole process began and she wouldn't walk any further until they were both stood over her, one of them licking her bits and the other slobbering all over her face. Normally you have to pay double for that kinda action!!

she'll be getting a name for herself down the park!

5m should be fine for her, I have a 10m one if you want me to bring that? I use it for Tiger but I probably won't be bringing him because he can be reactive on lead so I wouldn't want to spoil the day by bringing my idiot lol but my other dog is fine & she doesn't need the long line, she's too old and slow to run away (and she can't see where she's running to lol)

Re: Beacon Fell Country Park near Preston - fancy a meet & walk?

Izzy had a bit of a set back today! She's been having more and more time off lead and has always stuck nearby or come when called but today she was bounding between me and the OH when she suddenly tore off across the field after a little JRT puppy! No amount of calling got her attention so I had to go after her and apologise rather sheepishly to the guy who grabbed her lead so she didn't get tangled up with this dog

Training classes start on Sunday so hopefully she'll improve before any meet!!

Shetlandlover: just bring them all! Your whole pack is absolutely gorgeous!

We're having a few behaviourist sessions to see if we can calm him down a bit... are u coming to the walk in Preston?
We went there today.... not as much fun as i hoped. Some sily woman had her jrt, off lead it came bounding up mine (Holly on the lead) Drops it stick near her so i though fine mines on the lead but if your ignoring that fact i'll let her sniff the dog and say hi...which she started to do. The JRT was nervouse so growled and bit her so holly jumped on it. I pulled her straight off but the owner came and scopped her dog giving me dirty looks!!!

Plenty of parking, LOADS of forest walks, picnic areas, a cafe..... I thought it would be perfect for a PF meet!

It costs £1 to park all day.

Re: Beacon Fell Country Park near Preston - fancy a meet & walk?

I don't live far from Preston but it would depend on the date. We are going on holiday and I work some weekends.
