Bones from the butcher

I got a couple of bones from the butcher today and just wondered how long they are ok to keep? They are kept in a cool dark cupboard.

Re: Bones from the butcher

Treat them as fresh meat, I put mine in the fridge or freeze them, they love the frozen ones on a hot day.
SpringerHusky and DAVIDnCASS like this.

Yes and yes

You may want to check with the butcher (or OH) that they are not weight bearing bones - ie, leg bones from cows or pigs - as these are notorious teeth wreckers, they are just far too dense and can crack and chip teeth.

Depending on the size of the wing and the size of your dog, as if the wings are really tiny and you have a larger breed dog they may just try and swallow them whole, but yes they are fine to feed as long as they are raw.
