Shannows collar looks like its probably too loose if its sliding to the base of her neck, not sure if you've been made aware those hound collars should be snugly fitted just behind the ears with room for just two fingers to be comfortably inserted between the collar and the neck, to prevent them slipping it.

Just be careful tethering to another dog as it looks from pics that if shannow did suddenly take off the lead could easily be around her's or bizkits legs at the time which could end up in a nasty injury.

Thanks I'll try the collar like that. I wasn't sure how it should be fitted. Should it just be used for lead walking and her have a different house collar?
I agree about the tether being too long. I bought a much shorter coupler on Ebay and it arrived this morning. It's too short to get caught around their legs so I'll be using that from now on.
Thanks for all the replies. I got up and let her come to bed with us for a few hours this morning and there were no disagreements. Every day they make a little progress. I can't wait for her to settle in and trust us all properly. But we're still taking it one day at a time. So long as I keep food out of the way they are tolerating each other really well at home. Shannow likes Pippi better than she likes Bizkit, but I suppose with her small size Pippi is the less intimidating one, she's also a lot more laid back than Bizkit.
Malmum Bizkit is very fast, he can run faster than I can go on downhill on my bike if he's on grass (I can get up to just over 30 MPH) so I think he might be able to keep up with her
