Dogs DO remember

I went to see an old friend yesterday. Well, she used to teach me when I was in primary school as she was a young support teacher there and we lost touch when I left school.

But she lives a few houses down from my mum, and when I lived there for 10 months (5 years ago) we got talking again and she said I could walk her dog whenever I liked.

That was a godsend! Some may remember I spoke about my old collie x lab I had to rehome as mum refused to let me have her in the house, and I think I would have gone stir crazy with no doggy company for 10 months!

Walking Jimmy the collie kept me sane I am sure, although I had my son to look after Jimmy got us out the house and as he walked so nicely I could walk him with the buggy or off lead.

I haven't seen Jimmy for ages. I have maybe seen him once since Dixie was a pup and Dixie will be 4 soon! But when I went round yesterday he came and nudged my knee and jumped up for kisses, then he sat right by my side while we sat and chatted, leaning his head on my knee (he doesnt just do that with any old visitor!)

Then when I got up to leave he ran over to where his lead is! I was so amazed he remembered who I am after all that time unfortunately my phone was dead so I didn't get any pics.

But hopefully she is bringing the dogs over for a walk sometime before she goes back to work

Anyway, it was lovely seeing him again and was just as if I saw him last week, hes such a lovely gentle boy its no wonder he was 'fired' from his job at the farm! Lol (he refused to nip at the sheep to make them go)

ETA Ive stolen a pic of him
he is on the left with his sister Meggy on the right

Re: Dogs DO remember

Dogs do remember my whippets all run to their breeder when they see them. William used to jump off all 4 feet and land in his breeders arms. No mean feat for a 40kg greyhound.
