Re: im very confused :(

how long ago did you cancel with tesco? if your renewal wasn`t till august 9th then i would assume also that you`re still covered for anything until that date i would try ringing them up and saying you changed your mind and want to keep the policy going as it`s not actually cancelled until the policy runs out. the payments may have doubled but at least they`d still cover her hip dysplasia as she developed that whilst under the policy

good luck, it`s horrible when they`re in pain. my baby girl had elbow dysplasia and i hated seeing her limp but she seemed to do pretty well on glucosamine and anti inflammatories

Rachelralph - do you have a crate where she can go to get some peace and quiet? Jazz (gordon setter) absolutely loved it when she was younger and has made her own variant of it under the kitchen table! If she seems stressed, you could try putting a blanket over the top so she feels more secure. I'm sure dogs are part bird in that they like to make nests!

Jazz was/is (when it gets bad) on Metacam for her hip dysplasia, is your woofy on anything?

This might sound really daft and I don't know much about them, but could you look into getting one of those doggy back wheels? Don't think I've explained it very well so here is a link - http://www.wheelchairsfordogs.com/images/rasta_1.jpg

and a link to info about them from a UK company that sell them - The Dogmobile Company - mobility carts and harnesses for dogs

Just a thought! Hope your baby gets better soon having torn 2 ligaments in my ankle and needed surgery, I know how painful they can be!

Re: im very confused :(

i am amazed by how lovely you all have been in reassuring me and making me feel welcome so thank you. xxx

holly is off on a recoperation holiday today. with my three boys around and the 8ft pool out this summer i couldnt have holly here. she just wouldnt rest no matter what i did, and i cant ban the boys from playing out. so the plan is to take her to mother in laws house in hampshire (im in notts) and let her rest there for the summer hols. i am going to miss her terribley but i think its for the best.

Re: im very confused :(

I'm sure she'll have a wonderful rest with her granny! Don't worry, you're doing the right thing it's def not fair on her to watch all the fun going on and this way she won't feel like she's missing out.
When she's allowed back on her feet though get her in that pool!

Slightly off topic - where did you get the pool and how much was it?

Yeah I did forget to say welcome

Welcome

Xx

Re: im very confused :(

i got the pool from amazon. but be warned... the pool itself is quite cheap, but you defo need everything else that doesnt come with it. you need to get a pool stater kit that has all the chemicals you will need to keep the pool algae free and clear. you also need a maintanence kit to keep it grass and floaty bits free. plus you will probably need a filter for it too. oh a a pool cover too!

you also need to make sure its set up on a totally flat ground, any incline at all and the pool will go a funny shape and will empty.

once you have got it up though it is well worth it! there is room in my pool for me hubby 3 kids and occasionally the cat too. (yes my cat likes water)
