I live on the estate, have done all my life and I am very proud of it. As you know, if your from the estate some people assume you're "rough" or a scrounger or all the rest. I know because when I tell people where I'm from, they often quite rudely say "Its rough up there, isn't it?"

Cheeky sods! Back to the point, definitely, you can badly behaved dogs anywhere, we all know that and that's not to say ALL young lads with Staffs are irresponsible dog owners, one guy I talk to is really nice, BUT he doesn't have a collar or lead for either of his dogs, he even told me that his little rescue Staff doesn't like other male dogs.

I'm just saying , personally, ALL the young lads with Staffs on my estate have them with no collar or lead on and never pick up their dogs mess. Although to be even, I see plenty of old men and women, who seem quite "respectable" not pick up after their dogs mess either, so its not just them, it's all the flipping rude, selfish, arrogant dog walkers, from the estate or from a posh little area, if they are irresponsible and their dog affects mine and they are not in control of it, I still get mad.

i dont understand why anyone wouldnt own a collar and lead for your dog, i also thought it was law that they had to have a collar on, i belive this as Rocky used to only wear his harness out no collar and i was stopped by a on the beat policeman who informed me he should have a collar on at all times. i now never take his collar off, dont want to be stopped again

and totally agree about the irresponsible dog owners there are more than enough in the general area here and it drives me mad! i dont relish the thought of picking up afer my dog specially first thing in the morning but i wouldnt like to step in it so i clean it up, why cant others!!?? but these people can be told and when i have said something before i end up with a hail of abuse aimed at me, whihc i have pointed out before probably took more effort to deliver than picking up the mess would of

Re: Absolutely livid -irresponsible dog owners!

I agree! I'd be terrified if Dottie and Charlie were out and about without a collar! Just two naked Jacks causing mayhem! I can NEVER let that happen.

I too would be terrified if they were running around uncontrolled, Charlie is so clever yet at the same time such a jackass, getting stuck in fences, getting stuck in ditches (muggins here had to climb down and get him), knocking a chair on his head...and thats just the start of it. Grief knows what he'd be like on his own. I dread to think

Re: Absolutely livid -irresponsible dog owners!

jacks are mischievious little things.

i had a JR bitch when i was a kid we took her on holiday with us, on the first day she dissappeared!!! the next day she reappeared with a dead rabbit in her mouth! she had been down the rabbit holes in the hills nearby doing what comes naturally.

My friends old Jack went off down a rabbit hole a woodland walk and got stuck deep down the den, they had to use a bag of jelly babies and a whole load of patience to lure him out!

Re: Absolutely livid -irresponsible dog owners!

i also live in an ex councill house on an estate and object to the generalisation of council estate people.we have a number of youths round here with staffies or crosses who thinnk they are tough.however i walk my gsd and my sons staffie together they play and train together.i seem to have some respect from these guys as they often ask how do i get them to do that.i always say love and respect and most of all trust.it seems to get to them as the first thing they dont understand is that the dog must trust them before any training will work.beating them is no answer and will only lead to a sad end.
