I brought a puppy today and the owner said it's his brothers dog and he has the mother with him but the dad is a stud dog. He said the mother is a akita inu.

I have alot of questions, first of all what kind of dog is it, look at the hair, eyes, nose and ears. Do you think it's an akita? The dad was probaly brown, i don't know. I also would like to know would it be a big dog, big chubby like a the average size of a full grown akita?

mum is an akita not akita inu. Pup looks small for 8 weeks very cute though, mum is a big dog and if dad is an akita then your pup will be akita sized, akita inu are slighter in size. Do you have any info pics of dad ?

Thank you for you're reply, i'm just worried. I have emailed the owner and he said he will ask his brother if he has any pictures of the stud dog. All i know that the dad is also an akita according from his words.

How much do you know about the breed you've bought? Anyway you could find out about the father?

He looks ever so young, I would seriously doubt he is 8 weeks old in those pictures, bless him.
Not sure on whether purebred but mum certainly looks like an Akita. Did you actually see her though ??

Did you see mum or just a picture? From the picture I would think if thats mum she looks more like an american bred akita, the japanese akita inu are smaller and not so heavily built. I think the american akitas often have black faces of masks which it looks like your pup has. Was there any other puppies there? Its not unusual to use a stud dog belonging to another owner, but mum should have been with the pups. What did he say the dad was.

I did alot of research on american akitas but not inu's/japaneese akitas. This is why i'm confused.

Yeah he does, the owner said they have been wormed and fleed and i have to go to the vets on the 10th week to get them wormed and fleed again. I hope it's a purebred, i'm so worried.. I don't know what to do the mother looks so black and white and not a single drop of brown however my puppy has shades of brown and black and white.

I don't know anything about Akita's but that pup of yours is gorgeous. Look at those lovely chunky legs and the face mask, a right little cracker!

If I was you and you havent already, I would book pup in for a vet check asap. Did they say if pup had been wormed and if so when. It certainly wouldnt hurt getting him checked over.
