Anyone used a Happy Dog harness?

Oh how I HATE harnesses!

Kenzie has to wear one because she pulls if she sees squirrels/dogs/children but they are the bain of my life!

She has a fleece dog games one which I love and which fits her perfectly, but it's just too hot for summer and horrible if it gets wet.

I've tried an Ezydog one that goes over her head (can't remember the name), a puppia one and now an Ezydog normal one. None have fitted her well. I thought the new Ezydog one was going to be ok but it sits too close to the back of her legs and is rubbing

I've found Happy Dog ones which come in 3 pieces like the Dog Games ones, but they're quite pricey. Having said that, I'm almost at the point where I just don't care about price - I just want a harness that fits!

I think maybe she's a strange shape - she seems to be quite long in the chest, have a big head but a small neck

Any opinions on Happy Dog or any other harness welcome!

I was thinking the same thing, could you fit one to her measurements?

Or if you have any large pet shops near you, you could always take mckenzie in and try on different ones?

I used to do that at my pets at home with Tia, when growing she didn't fit anything But the shop didn't mind, I usually asked a member of staff if i could try some and they came with me to help me find some that might fit and helped me to try them on, they were great!

I don't know what your shops are like...but mine always seemed to have lots of selection of many different brands.

So it may be worth a try if you havent already?

Re: Anyone used a Happy Dog harness?

The RAC one is quite good in terms of size adjust-ability, and I don't think they'll be too long to the point where it reaches her back legs. They do have quite a bit on the back of them so might be quite heavy if used on long walks though

Re: Anyone used a Happy Dog harness?

She can probably get away with the Ezydog for short walks but today she was in it for quite a while and the webbing actually started to fold where it was crunched under her back legs when sitting down. And she's got a black mark on her back

The only pet shop we have nearby is a P@H and it just has the normal styles of harness which I know for a fact don't work for her - like the ones that are two loops connected by a piece.

All of the ones I've seen that are customisable are either the 'two loop' style or the style that has a strap going across the chest which I don't like either.

The Happy Dog ones come in three pieces which is why I thought they might be ok.

Re: Anyone used a Happy Dog harness?

Why not try Sid (Sid&kira) for a harness? she's been making them and could make one to fit on the other hand i've no experience with harnesses really

Tried one very similar (Puppia). If it was big enough to go over her head it was way too big around the body, and the ones that fitted around her body were too tight over her head

The style she's been doing doesn't work for Kenzie, but I might see if she could do a different style for me
