i know this may sound really basic stuff but a mate of mine repsonded to an advert for an english bulldog off the net,i never saw the ad so this is all second hand but it was all sounding ok the ad was along the lines of "stunning breed 4gen kc reg hip score pups 8 wks etc etc"price 280 pound!!an email to check they were still available to view later and off he pops to have a look he falls in love with a little chap they have a bit of a chat he goes to hand over the cash when you can guess what happends next "there not £280 there £2000"a few red faces appear and he makes a exit! but i was wondering if they never checked the advert was correct is the price valid that was on the site?

Not sure how he would stand legally; must say that if that breed was offered for £280 then he must have twigged that something was wrong?

I do think, regardless of what the legal standpoint is, that your friend should pay the correct price or walk away; seems wrong to try and pay a (presumably) responsible breeder well under the odds for a pup.

when he was telling me what happend it didnt sound right but the way things are with people and money these days you never know i looked at the site myself and saw what they were going for but there were a few ads on there that were not far off it

Heck! can only assume it were either!

one - A deliberate case to mislead

or
two - a genuine tying error!

Either way -for me to pay £2000 for a PET dog it would have to have golden balls

It would be gutting to fall for the little fella then walk away I must admit...

Yeah, I know of many bulldog breeders selling pups for around the 1500 mark and top breeders will and can sell for 2000. deffo a typo I should think, shame on the breeder for not checking the ad tho!!
