Izzy's had her first walk!!

We've just taken Izzy out for her first ever venture into the wide world!! It started badly when she didn't want to step out the front door, but once we coaxed her out with some chicken she was a very good girl!

Pretty much as soon as we left a group of people from a few houses down were leaving (who all smelled pretty strongly of a certain illegal substance ) but they were really nice about her. As we were talking, their Staffy came bounding out the garden off his lead and I did briefly think "oh god" but he was good to her, they said hello (although Izzys tail was tucked about as far underneath her tummy as it could get, poor thing) The pair were fine though, until Izzy decided to give him a tap on the nose with her paw, but he didn't seem to mind too much!

She walked pretty much all the way with a relatively loose lead, she wasn't sure about all the cars but she didn't seem too scared by them. We had a few people come up wanting to say hello to her (including a woman who kept saying "he's beautiful" despite HER pink collar and the fact we told her her name was Izzy!!!)

All in all, a successful first walk! The OH filmed a bit of me walking her so I've stuck it on youtube if you want to look!

Re: Izzy's had her first walk!!

Glad your walk went well!

I'm one of these people that would call your dog a 'he', I've only ever had boy animals, not intentional, just the way it worked out, so I automatically come out with he when talking about an animal, I don't mean any harm though

Prince had his first walk this week, it didn't go as well as yours though, he has a thing about sitting down everytime a car drives past to watch it, and rather embarrassingly he has to sit down and stare at anybody walking on the other side of the road, with me drawing attention to the situation trying to get him to move It's all good fun!!!xox
