Can anyone help this poor JRT??

was talking to a friend the other day about wanting a companion for Roz and she told me that someone she knew had just given her JRT to a rescue centre and that they were unable to find a home for it so were going to put him to sleep
I rang the rescue for more details and they explained that the owner had given him up as she was moving or something but that he had a habit of biting when having his lead put on and because of this they were finding it really hard to rehome him. He was actually due to be pts this morning but the lady at the rescue wanted him to have one last chance (he is only 17months) so he is being fostered by a friend of hers at the moment, its only a short term solution though and if he isnt rehomed he will need to be pts. I so wanted to help but was told he can be funny with other dogs and as Roz is a bit of funny one herself I thought it would be a bad idea
It just seems such a shame though that this poor puppy has barely had a chance at life and I wondered if anyone here could, or knows of someone who would be prepared to take him on. He is in the Rochford area by the way.
I dont even know this dog but thought the least i could do was put a post on here to see if anyone could help.

yeah same here, i have no experience with terriers and theres a good chance he and Roz wont get on so cant take the risk. i hope someone can help him though. im sure as he is only 17 months he can be trained out of the biting.

Re: Can anyone help this poor JRT??

I anted our second dog to be a sturdy terrier type.

But if he is biting in an aggressive way when being put on the lead, I don`t think I could help and with him not being good with other dogs... Sailor is just too persistant and full on with other dogs
Else I might have been able to offer him a home.

Re: Can anyone help this poor JRT??

Im not sure how aggressive the biting is tbh. the lady said that he wasnt an agressive dog by nature but had a phobia about being on the lead, not sure why, therefore when having his lead put on or off he would bite.
i would have loved to have given him a home, the biting doesnt bother me as im sure its something he could be trained out of and its not unprovoked biting, which would be worrying, however i have my Roz to consider.
Sailor they have so many JRTs on the dogs blog atm, i have been looking myself. Most of them are female though which is why i am still looking as i need a male to live with Roz. (she hates girls lol)
