Ok, so this is not at all the type of breed I would have originally gone for but through my research they seem to be very endearing.
I live in a basment flat with a small front andback garden with three cats. That is what i had to take in mind when considering which dog to get. I had a look at the breed and it seems that they have: Low energy levels Great Temperement Generally good with other animals if bought up as a puppy This is exactly what we are looking for. However there are cons too: Multitude of health problems that can be expensive Maintenance - cleaning their wrinkles! I am trying to think about whether this is the right breed for me. From all my research of different dogs this is the breed that has had a special effect on me. I love the idea of a slow couch potato and I think in many ways the main ffactors effecting my desicion about which breed to get are good for the bulldog as they would fit in here, However I am not sure about the health problems, I looked at a site and many people commented saying they were expensive to keep. What are you opinions on bulldogs? Could you provide me with any information that I maybe have not been told about them, I saw that almost everyone said they are big softies which is great Thank you ![]() |

Re: The British Bulldog
we looked at bulldogs when we got our DDB, they are lovely dogs but what put me off was the cost of them and the health problems however i think if you go to a good breeder they will have done all the health checks etc so should give you more peace of mind.
We went for a DDB instead as they are low energy and dont need too much exercise so despite being bigger might be another option for you to consider.... i love them they are fab dogs!! |

Re: The British Bulldog
Hmm just has a look at the DDB
Seems beautiful and lovey and I would love it but I doubt my mum would! I dont think it would be suitable as our house it not to big and I think for my cats it wqould be too big. If I insured my bulldog would that be wise and save us money. I have seen the prices of bulldogs and would onyl go up to £500 which I have seen a few advertised for. Are pugs like miniature bulldogs? At the moment the bulldog is at the top of list but I still have to get a bit more info! |
