Bobbin may very well be a wonderful dog and I am sure there is the right home out there somewhere just for him. If her relationship with her OH and his little girl means anything to her she has to let this obsession go. If she did manage to talk him around what sort of life would poor Bobbin have he would be on constant 'parole' one little mistake and it would cause trouble.
Not the right atmosphere for any dog to live in in MHO

Re: Just want to cry

I can see where you are coming from, and I can also see where your husband is coming from.

You are both adults, you both need to sit down and discuss it seriously. No shouting or crying or going over the top. Just get what you both want to say across and how you feel about it.

If this situation is going to cause issues in your relationship, I personally don't think it's worth it. I know I wouldn't let an animal come between me and my bf's relationship (I mean a new animal. If I already owned an animal then got with my bf... that would be a different matter). But, that's me... I don't know about anyone else.

It's a hard one. But, what if it was him wanting a dog that had previously bitten/mouthed a child and you didn't want to take it on because you were worried about your own childs safety? How would you feel if you were in his position, try and put yourself in his shoes. That's a hard question to get you to answer or realise, because it sounds as if your heart is set. Also, you could also say the same for him... try and get him to imagine what it would feel like if he was in your shoes.

I hope you manage to come to some sort of agreement. And I think you are great for wanting to rescue this dog x

Re: Just want to cry

Ok well this is how it is, thanks for the posts and im sorry but i would not put a child at risk, i dont have children but im not stupid, i am mad with him and i also no were he is coming from, no one is throwing anyone out and i never said that, comments said to get rid of him. And jackson and the others are right in a way because the dog is not agressive, but i have to look at it from his point witch i have, now its my home and he moved in with me from day one i told him i have animals and will not stop rescuing thats all i have ever done but yes we have been together nearly 8 years so im not going to throw that away, but i love aniamls thats why i have not got children animals in my eyes come first that is my chioce so please respect that, Bobbin is not coming but i have got him a rescue space close to home so i can work with him and find him the loving home he deserves.

I assessed a dog yesterday and he was amazing he was good with Tess and my rabbits and chickens he did chase the cat but no nastyness in him, the kids around were playing with him and he just rooled over for them he is perfect someone is looking at him on friday but if things dont work out hes coming home with me and Bobbin will take his place so i can work with him, i see were you are all coming from but im all for animals not kids but like jackson also said she as three little once she is not going to put hers kids at risk and i would not put is little girl at risk but come on all dogs mouth bobbin did not bite

You said it right there in bold but unfortunately your husband does have a kid and his responsibily is to his daughter first.

I'm glad he has a rescue close to you and hopefully will find the right home.

Yes and thats why i have also to respect his feelings, he waites 5 years for her to be able to visit as when i met him i had zac my rotti who was not good with kids as he got teased throw the gates were i used to live, he never bit any kid cos i am a responsible dog owner and would not let that happen, i love his little girl aswell so i can see his point.

glad to hear either way bobbin will have a forever home

like myself who owns bully breeds, ur a responsible dog owner...youve proved ur luv of aimals many times on this forum, i know ur not silly enuff to put a childs life at risk let alone break up a relationship over it lol.

you can never be to carefull wiv rescue bullys you dont know the full story off... its just ashame you couldnt ring his previous owners up to find out exactly wat sort of mouthing he did, and if it was threatning in some way.

The other dog sounds perfect wat color is he???

And wd for trying ur best to rehome this dog one way or the other.

I'm sorry you felt I was singling you out, I really wasn't. The truth is I'm a real 'numpty' and haven't worked out how to add more than one quote yet, it was just by chance that I picked on yours, and if you noticed I did say 'ladies' which was meant to include other posts as well.
As for not liking you that is SO not true, I don't dislike anyone on here, honest don't be nasty to me
