Re: Puppy Food
IMO that dry casuese more problems then wet.
The best you can feed your dog is BARF The natures diet is as close as you can get to BARF (it's not in a tin by the way - it's in a pack) And NO most tin foods I would not feed - but natural wet is good. And often vets will recommend chappie if dogs have upset stomacks - I wouldn't touch that one. regards sue ps YES the bakers could well be affecting your dogs behaviour |

you need to check the ingredients - I seem to recall wainwrights is not too bad - but my brain can't remember em all! Again I would always say that Arden Grange dry is amongst one of the best mid priced range food. I have a very good link about beef protien (which is the scourse of may upsets - and the scourse of protien in many of the inferior quality foods) I will try and find it and post it later. but in the meatime here's a bit about Supermarket food Pet Food Additives by CHRISTINE EMERSON, dog behaviourist at Drove Veterinary Hospital THE next time you fill up your dog’s water bowl, put cherryade in it instead. No? You couldn’t possibly do that? Why not - many of you dog owners out there are feeding them the equivalent of cherryade in their food bowl! Yes, you are right to be horrified. What is worse is that those well-known brands of dog food on supermarket shelves often contain very poor quality ingredients (cereals, meat and animal derivatives) and to make the junk food palatable they add sugar, caramel, toxic e-numbers and colourings. Just like children, dogs will be overenergetic and unable to concentrate if they are fed junk. Indeed, before you even try to train your dog or improve his behaviour, you need to be sure you are feeding good quality food. If he is barking, nervous or pulling on the lead, his food could be the cause. Your dog will simply not be able to concentrate on learning something new while he has toxic chemicals whizzing through his brain. Take a look at the ingredients list on the packet or tin, avoid the ingredients mentioned above and choose one that names a cereal, like rice or barley, names a meat, like |

Re: Puppy Food
I'm in Ireland, so I wouldn't have heard of most of these brands. But I'm feeding Rocky 'Royal Canin' and he's very slow to eat it for me, so I throw in half a packet of pedigree with it. Is this a foolish thing to be doing? He scoffs the lot. I suppose once he's eating, it's ok surely is it?
