Rash on Inner Thigh

Noticed a rash on Lincolns inner thigh last night, I'm not too sure if it's a rash as such or just inflamed skin, it is red and spotty looking but not lumpy to touch and he doesn't seem bothered if you touch it, he seems quite happy in himself but I don't know if this is anything I need to worry about or something I should just leave and observe for a while?

Well if it is only on one leg could he have been walking through nettles perhaps or possibly heat related?

Re: Rash on Inner Thigh

could be from pollen/ grass seed
but also could be beginnings of mange. There are two types of mange demodetic and sarctopic. One is treated by advocate and is contagious (sarctopic) the other is more to do with immune system. If you have a google you can see pictures of it and see what you think.
Probably not mange but Samba did have it so thats why I mention it.

That could be a possibility actually we did walk down the canal the otherday and he went through some to see some donkeys! If it doesn't go or gets worse then I'll get him checked.

Thank you

Had a look, not 100% sure it's that, without meaning to be blunt or ignorant, all the dogs look bald with a rash and really depressed. And where it is on Linc he doesn't have loads of fur there anyway and isn't yet depressed if this is what it is, if it is mange will it spread or just stay in that one area? I think I may just keep an eye on it and like I said before if it doesn't go away or gets worse then take him down the vets.....

Re: Rash on Inner Thigh

sounds like just a grass rash, my boys get it all the time, especially as they have pratically bald inner thighs anyways. Put a bit of Savlon on it to ease the redness. If it is bothering him quite a bit then Id get him checked by a vet.

The pictures are quite bad, sorry they are much worse cases than Sambas
Samba's was only on her inner thighs but both legs and was caught quite early.
Doubt that is what Linc has but just worth bearing in mind My chinese crested had a reaction to some pollen the other week. That soon went down.

Re: Rash on Inner Thigh

I apprechiate all your replies will go for the savlon approach and see how he goes, he's quite happy curled up all sleepies on a cushion next to me at the moment, so there's definatly no change in his behaviour lol!
