Dog rescued by lifeguards after falling from a cliff

Dog saved

Why do people let dogs off lead on cliffs? Every year there are many dogs who fall and this one was one of the lucky ones who survived.

The owner was so distraught she had to be treated by paramedics on scene

One of our dogs fell off a cliff,it didn't survive.

It was over 40 years ago now and I'm still paranoid about cliff edges,I don't even go near them myself.

Just talking to my Dad about this; he is a coastguard in Cornwall and they had a dog die the other day falling from a cliff .

Strangely enough we lost ours at Lands end,we were on holiday at the time.

If it's still happening now,40 years later, perhaps there should be warning signs.

Re: Dog rescued by lifeguards after falling from a cliff

Willows breeder lives not that far from beachy head the thing I most remember her drumming into me is dont let dogs off lead near cliffs. Now Im terrified of heights anyway so unlikely to walk along them but I would always have them on lead. Willow falls off of the step in the garden some days

Perhaps there should. I kept Kilo on his lead the other day on a cliff path, although a man said it was a shame for him .

Perhaps there should be warning signs, although I have seen warning signs which show danger of falling they are more specific to people than dogs. If only more people were aware that the danger is to their pets as well.

Such a shame you don't let him run off the edge to his death
