Some people have dogs, some people have cats....which is the preferred pet?
We have both, although we do have 3 dogs & only 1 cat. They each have their special traits. I love dogs for their loyalty and friendship, cats can be very fickle & stand-offish, but I really like their independence. They are much easier to provide for if you're gone for a week, just leave a clean litter box & plenty of dried food & water. Dogs usually have to have someone to look in on them. Let's get a poll going!!

Cats don't have owners - they have staff!

I have both and I love both. They are both special but in different ways. I'm glad I don't live in a country where I am allowed only one pet because if I had to choose it would be a difficult choice to make.

After 14 years of problem cats and 3 years of problem free dogs I prefer dogs!!
Though that may change if the cats become angels and the dogs all turn into Cujo..

Dogs..........

I have 3 dogs and 1 cat - if I could only have 1 pet it would have to be a dog.

Cats are aloof and only bother with you when they choose to - my dogs always greet me and are happy to see me - cat doesnt care - as long as she is fed

So to answer your question - DOGS!

At the moment I'm much closer to my dog but that's only because I haven't seen my cat for nearly 18 months

If I'm honest I'll admit that I probably wouldn't have gotten a dog if I still lived in NZ with my cat. I lived here for 9 months with no pet and I was very unhappy, having had my own animals since I was 10 years old. Kenzie lifted me out of that, helped me to make friends, gave me something to focus on. I love her so much, but it is honestly exactly the same love that I feel for Tala - no more, no less.

Tala was my only pet all her life and she is a very special cat in so many ways. I just hope she remembers me when I go home

I'm looking forward to having both of my babies under one roof in 8 months time

Im sat here trying to decide and I just cant, I dont think I would ever want to be without either species, they are both such different animals but so wonderful in their own ways so I will choose a dat no I mean a cog
