i new here.
need to ask a question.
i have a litter of pups,
i was wonder when it would be safe to move them into a shed.
they are in the whelping box at the moment. but they are 4 weeks and very loud...lol.

Re: labrador puppies

Does the shed has heating and lighting ???

I wouldn't move them outside until the are weaned from mum, my last litter weren't fully separated from mum until they were 5 1/2 weeks

Re: labrador puppies

Can I ask why you want them away from the house and in the shed?

Re: labrador puppies

Well I have just read the advertisement in the classifieds section, shocked is an understatement it reads:
"Quote
lovely labrador puppies for sale.
6 black 2 female/4 male
2 yellow both male.
wormed.
mum and dad kc....pup not.
reason for this mum was not one before she got preggers.
full of fun.
ready end of january
£250/300
willing to discuss price."

So it doesn't look like any tests have been undertaken either,as the Dam was still very much a puppy herself.Poor thing

Surely the way to raise pups is to keep them in the house so they can adjust to everyday noise,i.e TV,phone ringing, vacume cleaner,to have as much human contact as possible.

Re: labrador puppies

yep, socialising and training is one of the most important things,

I know all of my kittens personality which is a must so they go to the right homes. Surely this goes for Dogs aswell ie you wouldnt sell a timid Dog to a family with children

Re: labrador puppies

Yeah probably best to keep the pups inside as the socialising with humans and human noises etc is very important early on!
