fund raising for cats who need rehoming, ensuring good ethics and values, sharing information on shows and cat seminars. Not commercial at all infact a registered breeder wont sell commercially ie, pet shops ect. we breed for the breed.

As I said before it is the dogs that are important. Maybe every person who thinks they might like to breed from their bitch ought to volunteer for rescue first? Foster the unwanted dogs who need to be rehabilitated and have issues due to poor breeding, health or poor ownership. I am a breeder, exhibitor and custodian of my breed. I do everything humanly possible to ensure I breed quality puppies that are very carefully homed and for whom I take lifelong responsibility, and will or have re-homed any whose owners were no longer able to keep them. I also regularly contribute to breed rescue making a contribution from the sale of every pup I have bred (5% of the sale price goes to rescue and health research fund). I also will foster when rescue need such help with under socialised dogs. My breed is very low in numbers yet even here there are still people who puppy farm, and rescue pick up the pieces. The Labrador is the most exploited breed in this country. With 46,000 pups registered with the KC alone, if no pup was ever bred for the next few years it would hardly make a dent, there are too many dogs being bred, so only the most carefully bred, health tested high quality litters can be justified at all. Re: labrador puppies
I have just re-read this thread and don't see any rude or offensive posts.
Advice has been offered and hopefully taken onboard.I hope this member WILL continue to ask for advice,if she feels she needs it. I have been in my breed for nearly 20 yrs and I am still learning,we never stop. If for example I had posted an ad similar to the staff pups thread, avoided all questions asked and replied in a sarcastic manner, then yes I would expect to be spoken to harshly. I wonder if those of you who say we should be nicer, have seen the state that rescues & breed rescues are in,It breaks my heart to see these poor dogs suffering in kennels.
