Exclamation Awful thing on the news today

I saw this on the news today, I don't know if anyone else has. It's disgusting and I feel so sorry for the dog, it's just as cruel as not feeding the dog.

I saw it in the paper on Friday I think. She is getting a full 3 mins exercise! I hope she is fit soon.

Slightly off topic but this girl i knows dog is massively fat, where would you report it to? Iv attached a photo she uploaded on fb, would it be the RSPCA?

Re: Awful thing on the news today

There was a thread posted on it yesterday: nine stone border collie

It's very cruel. If the woman wasn't taken ill herself this dog might never have been given a new lease of life. It's a cruelty case and I don't see why it shouldn't be treated as such.

Yes you should report it to the RSPCA - whether they will do anything though is another matter. Good luck though

Yes, RSPCA, but they might not be a great help. Poor thing doesn't look far off the collie

As a dalmatian owner myself, I am disgusted someone would let their dog get like that!

I think the RSPCA have taken action before over animals that have been overfed

Re: Awful thing on the news today

I feel soo sorry for over weight dogs like this, they can`t be happy at all

Not long ago there was an article in my local paper about a Dobermann that was 65kg instead of 35kg ... in the photo, the dog didn`t actually look as bad as some dogs I have seen, but the dog was still taken from the owner.

I think the RSPCA treat over weight dogs as seriously as they treat underweight dogs

Re: Awful thing on the news today

over feeding a dog is just as cruel as under feeding it.
over feeding causes long term aiments such as arthritis, heart strain, breathing difficulties etc and shortens the dog's life expectancy.
the rspca are slowly getting round to prosecuting owners for this kind of abuse but slowly isnt good enough when dog's welfare is at stake!
Petitepuppet likes this.
