Hi Sara
I work for British Dalmatian Welfare and we regularly help people with overweight Dalmatians and belive me the one in your picture is Twiggy in comparison to some we see. We did refer one owner to the RSPCA who didn't take any action.

We have a sister charity that look after Dalmatians in the North of England they may be able to help. Does the owner know her dog is overweight? Does she want help? I can give you contact details if you like?

IME most people who's dogs become overweight don't intentionally mean to cause their dogs harm. They are often ignorant about feeding their dog.
candysmum likes this.

(Sorry to bring this back up so late!)

Im not sure, she is a "friend" I don't exactly talk to very often anymore. Both her and her partner pretty much match that dog in the weight department, maybe that has something to do with it? I need to do a little bit of research as to where the dog is living.

I have to say I do know how hard it is having an overweight dog, Jade was very fat when I got her. With daily walks and food at regular times the weight is coming off her slowly

Maybe there should be a national campaign about obesity is dogs? We hear about humans all the time but im sure lots of people don't realize their dogs are overweight or don't know where to go for help?
