Toby Scratching

Toby keeps scratching, and I don't know if it's just something dogs do but he really seems to go for it when he does. There's NO signs of fleas on him, I checked him right over when he was sleepy this morning...so I'm really confused.

Freaked me out a minute ago when he was scratching his head and ears and was whining increasingly with every scratch...I don't know what's wrong!

Re: Toby Scratching

If it around his head and ears he may have mites.

Re: Toby Scratching

Keep an eye on him, if he keeps scratching at his ears and starts shaking his head as well as whining it could be an ear infection or something.

Piper used to scratch her ears and make the most god awful whining noise, got her checked over by the vets and there was nothing wrong...... thought maybe it was the sharpe puppy claws making her howl

There may be a lot of dirty, smelly looking wax, do you pluck out excess hair from Toby's ears

Re: Toby Scratching

Smell his ears is the best advise. Dogs ears smell naturally very nice - so if they don't the chances are Toby could have an infection.
