Labradoodle - breeders I saw recently

I just thought that my recent experiences of several Labradoodle breeders might be of interest.

The local ones that we were in touch with over the summer (before we got our spaniel Betsy) were mostly very very good.

In fact I would say that the ones that were on my shortlist were some of the best and I investigated pedigree dogs and crosses.

Their dogs had had all the appropriate tests - I saw the results. They were also really fussy about who they sold to and their pups were NOT overpriced at all. They were well cared for and they were knowledgeable. Offering advice and support. The three that were on my shortlist were excellent genuine breeders.

There are definitely some awful breeders out there too but that applies across the board I think.

Re: Labradoodle - breeders I saw recently

My mum bought a 'Labradoodle' back in January. Its a funny dog, looks more like a lurcher (a small version of Genghis off EE), its non-moulting coat is stuck all over everything that passes it. Its now 9 mths old an in total its vet bill has amassed to £2500 It has massive feet and legs like a giraffe, honestly it looks nothing like any famous LD I have ever seen. Plus it only cost her £350..some we spoke to were asking £1000 for their pup.

Its very very intelligent, but as such has learnt how to manipulate and outsmart my mum

The 'breeder' didnt ask any questions about my mums lifestyle, past dog history or anything other than was she paying cash or cheque!!

Hi

There was a brown lab (mum) and an Apricot standard poodle (dad). They were kept away from the pup in a pen outside. They could have been the parents but just as easily could not have been!!

LOL like I said in my PM, doodles are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get! (In the words of Gump).

But they're all beautiful.
