Re: dose anybodys staffy

My staffie isn't a big fan of water, we have been to the beach a few times and it is a struggle just to get him to paddle with us. Bath time is a struggle too! lol

Re: dose anybodys staffy

must be a staffy thing cos all my other dogs have loved swiming but she will go in the water and put her head under but she knows when it gets deeper and stops and turns round, it not the end of the world but im sure if she did it once she would really enjoy it

Re: dose anybodys staffy

Our lad Dennis is the same,he will run about in the water but as soon as his feet are swimming he turns back

Alfie on the other hand is straight in there took them to the Isle of Wight and Alfie was off after the bouys

We did have a hydro pool near us but it has closed now dogs loved it well at fisrt they couldnt wait to get in,then they wanted to get back out, then they kept jumping back in

Lady at the pool said most are top heavy and dont float as well .

Must look and see if i can find another local, heard there was one opening but not sure how close.

Mel

Re: dose anybodys staffy

Apparently Staffies are not natural swimmers, but I can't keep mine out of water although he prefers his paws firming on the bottom.

Megs been swimming a few times, only because she's clumsy and falls in though! Trinny (Staffy Cross) will swim sometimes but she's picky where!
