Why?

Its a darn shame that the BBC and other television channels do not use pet forums before making biased programmes.

I have been contacted several times from various channels who delight in making titillating programmes about dog owners. Usually wanting to portray us as complete lunatics who dress their dogs in flowery clothes and feed them caviar! The last being Wife swap, so look out for a pet mad family in the forthcoming series.

Its good educational programmes that we need, with viewer participation.

However, I was one of those people who felt that the Panorama programme about the KC was long overdue, as did the responsible breeders.

I haven't seen a Panorama program about the Kennel Club - when was that on?

Re: Why?

Nina mentioned a panorama program about the KC, but she's gone offline without answering my question as to when it was on. Did anyone else see it? What did it say about the KC? When was it on? Is it likely to be repeated? I hate not knowing!

I'm with you spellweaver, know nothing about it at all. Do you think maybe she was referring to PDE?

She may have been - I thought that too - but then I thought that someone as clued up as Nina would surely know that the PDE program was by a relatively unknown company called Passionate Productions and had nothing at all to do with Panorama. She also spoke about responsible breeders being in favour of what it said, and most responsible breeders thought the PDE program was a travesty - ah well, maybe she'll come back online and let us know!

Well this sort of programme pulls in the viewers and that's all the TV companies care about, they're not interested the true facts let alone animal welfare.mad:

I agree Mary. What annoys me as well is why aren't the RSPCA checking these sorts of things out?

Well the RSPCA are just a 'joke'. did you see the report on the news the other night? It was about RSPCA 'Freedom Food' chicken farms, some were so appalling they were shut down. The film was shocking, really cramped conditions, dead and dying chickens lying around some with hardly any feathers. When is someone to going to bring this organisation to bookmad:
