Free Dog Training Ground Available (W. Yorks)

Hi Forum,

I am a dog lover and my current bundles of joy are a two year old Dalmatian called Elmo and a 12 week Rottweiler called Bella.

I am also the Director of a local sports club that may have facilities to suit a dog training club or similar.

We have an unused bowling green that is totally enclosed by trees and a fence and also has free parking and use of a club house if needed. We are considering letting this facility be rented for free if a suitable use were found for it - such as a dog training club.

The location is Dewsbury, West Yorks and I can be contacted on email infinitydesign@ntlworld.com

Thanks,

Jason Batley

Director,
Dewsbury & Saville Cricket & Football Club,
Saville Town
Dewsbury

That is a very generous offer indeed - if it were nearer me, I'd certainly be tempted to take you up on it

You might like to contact the The British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (google BIPDT) as they have a national list of trainers and could identify one in your area.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I have a memory that my father in law had a Share Certificate for your cricket club - he was from Batley - I'll see if I can find it if you are interested.

Hi, I visited the BIPDT website and they list only 22 trainers in their database none of whom were in my area, but thanks for the suggestion

The share certificate would be interesting although I am not sure it will be for our club. The full name of our club is The Incorporated Dewsbury & Savile Cricket & Football Club. If it is indeed a share certificate for our club I would love to see it as it is probably the only one in existance

Re: Free Dog Training Ground Available (W. Yorks)

Hi, I thought I had better make a quick update on this as I am still getting phone calls about this facility. The club and ground are still available to use but we now make a small charge, this is solely to cover the costs of upkeep of the green which is a large area and takes many man hours just to keep the grass down.

I just thought I had better post this update just to save people making a phone call if they were still after the free use of the ground.

Here is a photo of the club taken today when there was a dog rally on it.
