Re: Hubby Says

I'd say Labrador Retriever, so easy to train, minimal grooming, and very obedient, great with other dogs/pets, and children, love to work.

I think I'll be getting another Weim and Lab Retriever over the next few years.

Re: Hubby Says

Thanks everyone for your suggestions so far. I am not going to be rushing into it but probably in the New Year I hope to have the pitter patter of wee paws in the house.

I think I have been spoilt with Lily -she is such a darling. So easy to train and yes she does have her puppy madness but it is easily channelled into something.

I am tempted by another retriever or maybe something spaniel but not a mad one lol

about half the size again roughly, they are great with kids, dogs, cats just about anything really. and a big benefit they hardly ever bark. they are friendly towards everyone and will say hello, they are not a jump around dog when poeple come to the house. they sniff, wag tail and maybe a quick lick, then happy to follow you about and just lay down at your feet or where ever.
they are happy to go out on short walks or long ones and dont care about the weather.

I wouldn't choose a spaniel if it were me but that's just me, although having said that I do like the Clumber spaniels.

If I was as fortunate as you, I'd have another big dog like another Bernese or a Newfie or a St Bernard - or better still - a Leonberger!!! lol
