Dog INsurance

Does anyone reccomend an insurance company, or know of which to avoid?

Re: Dog INsurance

I have found Tesco's pet insurance to be very competitive, you can get a quote here

Re: Dog INsurance

I`m hunting about at the mo. My pup at the moment has 6 weeks free insurance with Petplan, but I think they are quite expensive. When I had my St Bernard the insurance for him with Petplan started at £27 and went up to £36 in less than 4 years.

Yes, doggystylestore. I thought Tesco`s was very good. Petplan quoted me £22 for Harvey yet Tesco quoted £8.

Out of everyone I've spoken to, I seem to be paying the most with pet plan (£33)!

Re: Dog INsurance

i am with Tesco now but have heard really good things about pet plan - i am all for saving money but has to balanced with best cover ... key thing is getting 'for life' cover which tesco do offer on the higher policy

Re: Dog INsurance

Hi,

I've just tapped in all my/the pets details on tesco insurance and it comes out at £11.81 per month. What do everyone think of this?

Would this cover physio/hydro therpy should the dog require it.

What's the best one to go for?

Thanks,
Darren

Re: Dog INsurance

We are just looking into pet insurance too.

So many people are recommending Tesco that we will probably go with them. The only thing is that the first year quotes a massive discount so it will definitely go up after that and might get stuck with it if doggie develops something.

Oooo its just such a minefield!

Re: Dog INsurance

HI
I have Argos platinum I have always found that quite good. They have paid out when I needed it too. What you need to be careful of is if it has a maximum that it will pay in 1 year/ a maximum it will pay for an illness. The best ones are the policies that offer whole of life so if they end up with a problem they will be covered for that for the whole of there life. I am not sure about what Argos offer so it worth a poke about. Be careful though the cheapest is not always the best way to go!
