NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not cooked! lol.

My nan used to feed her dog polos... I know that isn't home cooked dog food, but are polos dangerous to dogs? I used to tell her not to do it, but you try telling a 70 something year old woman what to do with her dogs !!!

I don't think a Polo here and there will cause much damage, mine had a bag of prawn crackers between them tonight, can't see that being brilliant for them! D

I cook lambs hearts twice a week with garlic & carrot for my 3 they can't get enough of it, (they have a scoop of their dried dog food with it too).

I also cook mince again with garlic & carrot or chopped turky leg meat for them, or occasionally liver & kidney once a week so 3 days sometimes 4 I cook meat the other days they have tinned dog food mixed in with their dried dog food.

Often bake my own dog biscuits too, & add cheese to some as a treat which they love

Though I am careful with their weight Halle & Luna put weight on very easily so I have to watch them Diesel burns all his off so he gets more plus he's a lot bigger than they are.

They also enjoy a tin of evaporated milk watered down with warm water 3 times a week, I was told by a breeder the evaporated milk is good for their coats years ago when I had my labs, so it's always been a treat I give 3 times a week too

Should add they dont have a whole tin of evaporated milk each they have 1/2 a tin watered down each time
i have a bullmastif and a staffy i cook all there food veg tomatoes meat i dont give them garlic i heard onions and garlic are not good for dogs

I think onions can be toxic to dogs but i don't know the amounts you would need to give them to be toxic.
Does the garlic give them bad breathe? In humans you have to eat an awful lot of garlic to give heart protection.
I feed a combination of things, their favourite is cooked prizechoice rabbit. The cats and the dogs go mad for that. They have kibble in with it sometimes and soak up the gravy. They like the lamb too.

I add some garlic which is good for the heart & curculation Ive never had problems with worms in any of my dogs through using it either also add chopped carrot complete with the skin & they love it.
Thanks Onyxx - I will definitely give it a go.

Re: Home cooked dog food

Raw onion or garlic isnt good for dogs but it would need to be quite a large amount to make them really ill, I use either dried garlic or 2 fresh cloves finely chopped & well cooked always used it & never had any problems.

Have used it with rabbit, lamb, beef, hearts liver, kidney, turkey & minced chicken lol they dont care they like garlic & love any home cooked meat

My lot love veg too especially broccoli, cabbage & cauliflower for obvious reasons they dont get these veg often lol, but do eat carrots, garden peas, garlic, potatos, tomatoes etc cooked in with their meat for variation.

There's nothing bad about feeding raw garlic in moderation.
