Re: I'm a teenager with a GSD

. Better to be safe than sorry. I know people give certain breeds a bad name, but that's life and we need to try and just get over it and not let it bother us so much. They can't read minds and know for sure that your dog isn't going to attack (same with any dog)... so maybe they just rather be cautious. I think I'd rather prevent my dog getting attacked than just "hope" that the dog coming towards me is freindly. Why let it bother you? It's your dog and you know he isn't a bad dog, so f*ck what others think... and walk on and ignore it .

Re: I'm a teenager with a GSD
sadly people see the breed you have and judge before they know the dog,
try to take notice, just have fun with your dog and dont worry about what other think. ![]()

Re: I'm a teenager with a GSD
I like GSD a lot and my friend a professional dog trainer breeds them too.
Now she trained me to always bring my dog under control when a strange dog was approaching. It's a courtesy and a precaution - maybe you should think of doing that too. Also, if I put the lead on my dog and there is an incident, if one dog is loose and one on a lead, the one on the lead is legally 'under control' and far more likely for it's owner to win a court case, be it for damages or a DDA prosection. I'd say think ahead, protect your dog and consider other people who are not as comfortable with GSD as you are. Sgurr Last edited by Sgurr; 17-09-2008 at 03:49 PM. Reason: spelling |
