British Bulldog

Hiya,
My names Mark

I already own a dog which i rescued from the place i work at hes called Barni Or Mr Barnibus when hes being naughty ( Corgi X JRT )

the day we got him

Anyway ive been intrested in British bulldogs recently and i was just wondering if anyone can give me any info on them like how they are with other dogs and the health problems them get.

I am doing research myself but i would love to hear from other people who have or owned the breed?

Id be wanting a female so it means getting Barni "chopped" and i would of course be getting a puppy as if would grow up with him then but any information would be great.

Thanks
Mark

Re: British Bulldog

Welcome. Hopefully someone else can help you. Should you decide on one, I know someone breeds them and has just had her bitch scanned. I'm not sure if she's definitley expecting (I haven't heard any news) but the breeder seemed to think so.

Re: British Bulldog

Hi - I got my English Bulldog on Saturday and it is the best thing I have done!

Dont buy cheap [they are very expensive - esp since your getting bitch], do your research on the breader.

English bulldogs can have loads of problems, but again breeders are trying to breed it the out. Look at the bloodlines.

To research - buy The Bulldog by Diane Morgan.

Look in my profile for pics!

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of place do you work? You don't have to say, just being nosy.

Its a holding pound for the council, Not a rescue because they only stay there for 8 days to give the owners a chance to phone up and see if they are there, after the 8 days they are sent off to rescues such as dogs trust or rain rescue.

I wont lie and say that they dont get put down because they do if they become very ill or are very aggressive but even some times weve got the aggressive dogs into the police ect.

Staffies are always being put down as they have a very bad reputation given to them by the media.

Please bare in mind i have no choice in who gets put down its managers decision.

Oh thank you for telling me.
I noticed there are a lot of staffies and staffy crosses in rescue. It's sad.
