What size crate...

...would you recommend for a Siberian Husky? Obviously don't want to get one that's going to be too small! Thanks for your help!

Re: What size crate...

Hi,

I got a Large for our Labrador puppy and he has been fine in it some people advised getting a smaller one to start with so he didnt mess in it but I figured if I got a smaller one would only have to get a bigger one later on. He has never messed in it and he loves going in there. So I would advise getting the large or XL.

Re: What size crate...

My setter has a 42" and my greyhounds a 48". I would have thought either of those 2 would be big enough if you have room to put it I would go for a bigger one. My setter is not a big bitch she is about 23/24" at the shoulder

Re: What size crate...

I would say depending on storing the crate get the biggest you can after all the more movement she has the more comfortable It will be. If they are more comfortable they are less likely to moan (but they will still moan lol). Also If they have a little space you can put a treat ball etc in to keep them amused. Huskys are quite big so I don't think you will find one that is "too big". Good luck with your pup

Re: What size crate...

Depends what it's for. My toller (he is a big boy, over 21" tall) has a 36" cage for in the car, my goldie and other toller (she is little only 17" tall) share a 42". So a 42" would be plenty big enough for a husky.

Hi,

Your SH should be able to stand up in the crate, and turn around comfortably. The height of an adult SH will between 20 to 24 inches to the shoulders so make sure the crates height allows for this and more to make room for head space as well.
