Puppy and House Rabbits?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone got any successfull stories of bringing a puppy into a house with two house rabbits, or is that a complete no no?
I can't imagine it being that successfull but I wondered if anyone had any information or experiences?
Myself and my other half would love a puppy but have two house rabbits and I want them to stay as house bunnies!
Thanks

Re: Puppy and House Rabbits?

Nobody has any ideas? I am not sure where the best place to ask is - I have posted this on a rabbit forum but nobody has replied there either!
Thanks

Re: Puppy and House Rabbits?

My friend has a house rabbit and a cocker spaniel puppy. They haven't had either long. However, the house rabbit decides to stay in his cage when the puppy is about.

As long as you get a breed without a high prey drive, I would imagine it could easily work, but I wouldn't ever leave the puppy and rabbits alone unsupervised, just in case. One of the puppies we bred lives in a home with free range chickens in the garden and has been taught to ignore the chickens.

Re: Puppy and House Rabbits?

our little klein bitch shares the run with the rabbit in the summer they get on really well together and play just like puppies would although Puzzle is 8 and the other dogs around the house love him too, he is not a house rabbit though but has a run out the garden when the other dogs are around the only ones that I do not trust with him are the terriers and the springers
