Mylobodders is on a distinguished road
My doggies.

At the moment I have two dogs.
But I'm becoming ever more concerned.
I originally had a Staffordshire bull terrier cross. Dont know what hes crossed with but here he is.

Rio.

Recently he had cancer and they had to cut a section from his lower jaw which means his tongue now hangs out.
This is the second time hes had a tumor removed.

And since I moved our I had to get him a mate so that he wouldnt be on his own all day. So I got Wilo.

But shes become more dependant on company than Rio has and now I'm very worried that Rio is on his lat legs and she will become very lonely and depressed.

I dont feel that I could ever replace my little spud but for her sake I may have to. And im also worried that she will reject any other new addition to the family.

Anyone got any advice what to do?

Re: My doggies.

So sorry to hear about Rio but he's a plucky lad.
Can you take Wilo to training classes/socialisation classes so she meets other dogs. Then when the time comes, you will probably have more chance of her accepting a companion dog.

Its a hard one as your dog would have already got use to the company of your other dog. She may surprise you and be fine. Do you go out to work or are you there more to keep her busy in the early days. If you find she is pineing then it may be better to get her some company. There are many rescues that will help match your dog to another. If not then maybe she would be ok with a puppy as she may just mother it. Im sure ther are alot on here that have been in the same boat as you and can advise a bit more than me. I hope that when the time comes you can get sorted ok. Sorry to hear your other dog has been through so much.
