Dog advice required please

Hello, first post.

Joined mainly looking for advice on a dog I could be buying, but I'm sure I'll pick up loads more.

I've been offered a 1 year old dog. Been told it's a bulldog, but think it could be a crossbreed (see photo below).

Anyway, what should I be looking for and asking the owners? I can find advice on buying a puppy, or taking on a rescue dog but little on buying an (almost) adult dog. Looking for inputs on health, papers, behaviour etc.

I had a dog for many years as a child with my parents but not since I moved to my own home, so it's all relatively new to me.

Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen him in the flesh yet, or met the owners, but that is concerning me too.

That's the only photo I have just now.

I was a bit worried about the eye too.

I'd ask to see any papers they have, proof of injections (vets stamp when they are done), any health tests they've had done any previous health problems etc.

Re: Dog advice required please

Be careful with his eye.. Doesn't look right.. And could be a costly op.

As above that eye looks nasty. Don't let them fob you off with an excuse, get it checked by a vet before parting with the cash.

Re: Dog advice required please

Our shih tzu had cherry eye, cost 150 for the operation if cost is a factor in your decision.
